Deconstruct and RE-CREATE A Portrait Assignment
I created this photo by using 3 lights. The main light was on the right of the subject while the second light is on their left. The difference between the two lights is a 1 stop difference. I also used another light placed above their head on their left to add some highlights. I made the background almost pitch black by making sure that none of the flashes are pointed at it.
I really like how the photo turned out. It would have turned out even better if I put some make-up on the model to match the original image closer. I also could have pushed all the hair to the model's left just like the model from the original image had. The reason why I forgot about that detail is because at the beginning of the shoot the main light didn't want to work. But after some trail and error we eventually figured out that one of the buttons which activate the flash was turned off.
What did turn out good in the photo are the position of the lights and the fact that the difference between them is what I needed.
Overall, even though it isn't an almost perfect recreation of the original photo, I still think #that it turned out pretty good.
