Image Manipulation Project Theme: "Feeding Paper Animals"

The theme of my project is “Feeding Origami Animals”. The image will show a person trying to feed animals or an animal aa origami flower from their hands. As the name of the theme suggests, the animals will be made from paper by hand and then will be increased using photoshop to match their natural size if they were living animals. The scene will possibly be set in a field.

The animals will be made from coloured paper to either match the original colour of the animal or be a completely odd colour. For example, a pink elephant or a purple fox.

When taking the photos of the origami animals, I would take multiple shots at different angles to try and find ones that would fit the scene. Then I would take pictures of a person sitting or standing in different positions to figure out which one looks the best.

Origami is naturally a traditional Japanese art or technique of folding paper into a variety of decorative or symbolic designs. Different shapes have different means but that doesn’t mean that they need to have a deeper meaning.

When people will look at my project some may think that the aesthetic is nice while other will try to find the meaning behind it. Some could think that it represents how we try to make animals and try to control how they look like while others will just think that it looks cool.

What has inspired me to do my project isn’t particularly any artist, in fact what inspired me is the thought of using the skills or making origami that I have learned during the long Christmas break. I really enjoyed using paper, trying to give it a shape and seeing what comes out of it.
